Amp Input: XLR & RCA switching - Click HERE for Original Thread

I was wondering how I could do XLR/RCA input switching for my amplifier.

I suppose using a simple switch is possible, but I'd like some sort of circuit that leaves the switch out of the signal chain. I've got no problem with an extra opamp though. Is there any way to do such a thing or not?

No one knows?

* To mods: Sorry, I posted this in the wrong forum. Could it please be moved to the chip amp forum? Thanks!

Just connect them in parallel and use a shorting jumper or switch to connect IN- to ground. Since only the ground connection goes through the switch, I think this is fine.

This is how Pass Labs does it (jumpers).

I guess I could just as well use tiroth's trick, but I just thought about this and wondered if it would work. Will there be crosstalk between the inputs?

Hi,
In your schematic active input is loaded with only 100ohm what is unnecessary low. Also, inactive input is shortened to ground what also isn't good.

Ah well, I guess I won't use any switch at all. I guess I'll be smart enough not to connect 2 input signals at once to my amp :).
