Fault finding on Kicker IX702 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,
Does any one have schematics for a kicker IX702? or know much about there design? The output stage uses 1 tip36c and tip35c per channel (two channel amp) and the power supply uses 4 k2312's?.

This amp has been on it's way out for a long time, it would over-heat with a 4-ohm load and no input (RCA disconected), had bad distortion at high levels on some days and none on others even playing the same cd. And now it just sounds bad at any level and i cant seem to find the problem.

Please Help,
Sean McGee

Today i connected up the amp and it's working again. I felt the transistors and mosfets while at low volume and the SMPS stays cool but the TIP's get hot fast. The voltage from the SMPS is ~31.5 volts +/-. ANY IDEAS?

Sean.
