Hello. I have a LCD screen from a laptop, and I got about $200 to invest in this, although I would prefer to save as much money as possible. couple questions. Can I buy a ohp and put a more powerful bulb in it? Will a laptop LCD screen work just as good as a LCD panel or would a 5" PS1 one work just as good? Do I need to buy a new lense with the OHP for it to work better? Would it be better to build 100% without using a OHP?

thanks

Laptop screen will work but you will need the controller board to run it. If screen is TFT active matrix you will get good pic but is passive matrix then pic will suck.

Keep reading on the site, there is way more then enough info to go around.

Heres my two cents, I would use a stripped 15" monitor from the compatible monitor thread, as it is simpler than the latop and WAY WAY WAY better than a 5" lcd. I would also recomend this calculator, it takes alot of gesswork out of it.

The best way to start in this is to buy an OHP and projection panel. You will get decent results and see how everything works.
