I am doing a lot of media conversion (8mm, minidv, hi8 to vhs or DVD), and I have been using a camcorder in each format to play the tapes, but I'm worried that I will wear out the camera with the constant use. Does anyone make a player that can take these camcorder formats and just play them like a VCR or DVD player? I've done numerous google searchs, but have not been able to find anything yet.
I would think this would be a common request from video companies or anyone that does a lot of work with these formats.
Do any of you know of an products that would do this? |

| If you are doing a lot of dv conversion, I use a sony dv deck that has firewire. Costs over 3k I think. |

| Those DV decks tend to be $$$$. Doesn't make sense when the camcorders are so much cheaper AND have all of the camera optics included! |
