i am going to build me a bass box for a 10" sub. it is going to be placed in the trunk in a audi A4 2002 sedan. Any recommodations of how to build the sub-box...? Is it best if the element is faced towards the backseat or faced backwards..? As you may understand i havent done this before so any help is welcomed. :)

| mine uses two 10's and they are facing downward into the floor forming a slot where all the sound comes out. works well, gets to 120db with two crappy 10's. |

| Facing forward usually isn't the best way to point them. Maybe test it out before making your final decision. I've had success with facing it towards the rear. |

| rear for deeper bass... forward for cleaner sound.. apparently.. lol |

| It is just a "I want to try new things idea." The result is not bad at all, but I can't offer any comparison. I am using 12" there, but 10" will be better. I should have sent you a mail already so check your mail box. |

been looking for that sonotube without any lucccckkkkkkkkk
gggrrrr....
could i use 10" pvc tube instead of the sonotube? will it make a huge difference? |
|

| If I remember it correctly, some ppl said PVC tube will tend to vibrate. However, some ppl also use Pipe to make TL speakers. I think if you are using PVC--> plastic. Why don't you try Fiber glass? But u need to make sure the volume is right. We need input now ppl. This is all I can help him.:smash: |

| If you have 10", the 10"-12" one will probably ok. 10" will look sharper because it is smaller in diameter and lengthier to fill ur trunk from side to side. My 12" used only the length of the left back seat. 10" will probably extend to the length of both seats. however, after some serious though I will suggest to go fiber glass. 1st, it save more space than sonotube, and second it will have more SPL even if u want to run them in SQ because isobaric set up will make two to equal one, unless u are running dual but not isobaric setting. Try it if u go non isobaric. After I heard my cuz's friend's sub, I really give up this sono. Mine is muddy, and lack of soundstage, and his is accurate, and the bass is enjoyable. So it is time to try new stuff.:D |
