check out the HeadWize web site. I built the design by Chu Moy.
It was fun and tiny... a good place to start.

It uses a pair of OPA134's

Is it required for research?;)
Then IŽd go for some samples from Texas Instruments.
OPA627 and BUF634 (DIP or TO) is a real good combo for a headphone amp. Have a look in the BUF634-datasheet.
YouŽll find the schematic.
The schematic should be improvable which you can read about at Headwize as well. For me it works really well.

If the SennheiserŽs are 300Ohms or higher you can get away with just a simple opamp without buffer.

Check out Mr. Gilmore's amp on Headwize, it's supposed to be great!

Although you might have problems to find the complementairy paired FET's. I didn't find them except on Reichelt, so I'll have to wait for the next group buy.

DansData has reviews of several headphone amps.
