"Diy" Metal halide in commercial projector - Click HERE for Original Thread
wout
i can buy a commercial projector (infocus 580) without the lamp.

That projector uses a "150W Metal Halide" according to
this database.

can i just replace that for a 150W metal halide lamp that we use for our diy-projectors? (without external ballast etc)

I was wondering almost same thing... If I get a commerciale projectore with 12v / 50w or more halogen lamp, can I replace Osram Decostar kind of 12v / 50w halogen lamp ?

@wout,

yes, some people did it already the mods in the german forum.
sometimes ther's space enough to built in a lamp we are using for diy-pj's.
with same wattage no problem. have a look inside and try to use an osram hti 152. same type is ge css 150.
good luck.
