Sorry, but here I am once again posting a complete newbie question...
What I need to know is the "normal" (is there a standard?) voltage levels, gains, and impedances of the different stages of an audio system.
I know that the actual "noise" level out of the speakers will depend on the speaker's sensibility.
The question is more of the "normal" voltages at the input of each of the stages, so I can, for example, have a home built pre and amp and a comercial pre and amp, and switch stages between them.
I'm also aware that a CD player will not produce the same output as a tuner, for example... but what voltages are involved here ?
In other words... how much is enough and how much is too much ?
