Using TFA 204 transformers for SE EL84? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have a pair of TFA 204 Magnequest output transformers that I would like to use in a SE EL84 amp. The primary is normally 3K but I would like to connect the 4 ohm taps to 8 ohm speakers and use them for my amp. What undesired effects will this have on the sound? There is always a tradeoff. I think the bandwidth may be narrowed but I'm not sure. Any advice is appreciated.

The primary inductance *might* be a bit lower than in a "real" 6k transformer.
If the trasnformer can handle enough unbalanced DC you can always use two or even three EL84´s in //

Good idea. I think I'm going to go ahead and build a SE 2A3 with them. That is what they were designed for after all. Thanks for the reply and advice Fuling.
