PCM2707 I2S out to TDA1541A DAC - Click HERE for Original Thread
TV Man
Hi,

Been puzzling over the datasheets for the BB PCM2707 USB DAC chip. It ouputs I2S, but the datasheet doesn't use the same terminology as Philips datasheet for the TDA1541A.

The three inputs for the 1541A are

Pin 1: Word Select
Pin 2: SCLCK/BCLK
Pin 3: Data

The PCM2707 has
Pin 17: I2S Data Output
Pin 5: I2S L/R Clock Output
Pin 19: I2S Bit Clock Output
Pin 18: I2S System Clock Output

So, PCM2707 pin 17 (Data) goes to TDA1541A pin 3.

But which are the correct pins to feed TDA1541A pin 1 (Word Select) and TDA1541A pin 2 (SCLK)??

I'm guessing PCM2707 pin 18 (Clock) goes to TDa1541A pin 2 (SCLK) but this might not be right.

And is the 2707's L/R CLK the same as Word Select??

Has anyone worked this out yet...

Pin 5 to pin 1 of the TDA1541.
Pin 19 to pin 2 of the TDA1541.

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for your help :)

Hi Tv man

Did it work, the USB to TDA1541A? Looks very interesting, this way it is possible to eliminiate a receiver. Do you have further info on how to implementate it? I could read the datasheet, but...

Thank you

Erik
