| a silly question from a newbie: which is better for an OPT's design - 3K or 5K? i dont know if i'm asking the right question so pardon me. i am asking a fellow diy hobbyist to make me a pair of OPTs for my 6V6 single ended triode strapped amp project. |

5K for about 4W output in triode mode.
Happy building,;) |

4W seems a bit optimistic when we´re talking triode mode.
I´d say 1,5-2W |

| To maximize output go with 3K, although it will give for more distortion. 5K is for less power and less distortion. |
