a silly question from a newbie: which is better for an OPT's design - 3K or 5K? i dont know if i'm asking the right question so pardon me. i am asking a fellow diy hobbyist to make me a pair of OPTs for my 6V6 single ended triode strapped amp project.

5K for about 4W output in triode mode.

Happy building,;)

thanks fdegrove!

4W seems a bit optimistic when we´re talking triode mode.
I´d say 1,5-2W

What if I'm an optimist and say it can done?
Not that it matters: look ma from 2W to 4...Wow!!!

I´m quite sure that I have seen A2 curves for 6V6 somewhere...:D

i'll appreciate more inputs from the masters just to maximize the output of this 6V6 project. thank you.

To maximize output go with 3K, although it will give for more distortion. 5K is for less power and less distortion.
