How To Use Isa Modem As External Modem - Click HERE for Original Thread
abid_rehan
Well of all the modems that I have used I found US Robotics Internal Modem that I have as the best, which happen to be an ISA modem, unfortunatley there are no more ISA slots on my P4 motherboard having Intel GBF motherboard, and I was wondering if any genius from DIY community could help me build an interface through which this modem could be connected to LPT or COM port of my PC??????
Help Please.
I know this is not technically impossible...

Not impossible, but the difficulty is just not worth it. This is not just a hardware issue, but a software issue as well remember. There are two options. I have seen ISA slot emulators, though not in a while. The easiet may be to just buy a cheap old PC and set up modem sharing using s/w. Given the implementation time, this will be by far the cheapest.
