I have bought a 4inch lcd for $50 it has 105600 pixels. I am only 12 years old thats why i got this panel because it cheap!! I have an old OHP which i have now dismanteled (400w). But the 4inch lcd is about 108 inches away from the screen. And the results arent that big! What is the best way of getting atleast double the size projection?

please reply
thankyou

what OHP is it?

does it have a doublet or triplet lens?

triplet lenses give a better picture....they're more easily focused......

you'll need to let everybody know the specs on the projector if they're going to be able to offer any decent help.......

You need a shorter focal length objective lens.

How far is your projector from your screen?
How big do you want your screen to be(digaonally)?

My guess is you won't want to go over 60" diagonally with that LCD, perhaps someone who's used a similar model can pipe up on that.

Ok I didn't notice u stated how far it is from the screen. How big is your projection, and how big do you want it be?

its about 108 inches from the screen i would like about 60" diagonal

its a triplet lens and its focal is 316mm

Find urself an objective lens with a focal closer to 200 mm and you'll be right in the correct range for what you want to do.

If my calculations were correct then your screen now is close to 30 inches diagonally, and if you keep the pj the same distance, a lens with a focal from 175- 225 mm will get ur image around 55-65 inches. Now you just have to find a lens. Maybe a member has a lens in that range sitting around they can sell u cheap.

well, faithblind said it all.........

forget the OHP. Use this plan instead:

a 5" projection lens from surplusshed.com (~$15) is perfect for your LCD.

Magic_mat,

I noticed that there is a new lens at surplus shed with a 8 inch (208 mm) FL. It might work well with your small LCD. I don't know for sure but it seemed like it was reasonably cheap. Might be worth a try. There is also a copy lens with a 5 7/8 inch focal length. This would yield a bigger picture and the copy lens is likely to have a wider angle of view making it more suitable for projection. Here is a picture of the copy lens. It is 5 USD.
