Distributing PC Internet audio throughout the house - Click HERE for Original Thread

I get lots of excellent radio stations stremed to my computer off the Internet- great in the computer room. However, even though I have two audio systems and numerous radios throughout the house, I don't know of a way to get this internet audio distributed to the rest of the house. If anyone knows of products or has suggestions, they would be appreciated.

Thanks. Gary

You could try Slim Devices , they offer a streaming reciever and a web-based server. You might have to hack the software a little to get it to work for what you want, but it shouldn't be that hard. Of course the price tag is a little bit steep, but it does what you want.

You could also
1) run long wires to a preamp in another room.
2) Buy a very inexpensive used computer for the other room. Maybe like $100, nothing fancy of course. Or get a new Dell for under $400 w/o monitor. You could even strem with wireless ethernet.

Wait! I just remembered this company has streaming stuff and it's cheap! I remember something about running it on a pocket pc???? rechairsoftware.com

you might wanna look into sending the sound signal through SPDIF or TOSLink and then having a decoder box at the other end..or use a balanced line driver and reciever...might be messy though with all the cables running around...
