Sumiko MDC-800 "The Arm" - Click HERE for Original Thread
icefox
Hi.

Currently considering a trade-in offer for this arm. I want to trade my Morch / Moerch DP6 for this arm.

I have the following quations in mind,

1. Comparative performance of DP6 vs The Arm, is that NOT a upgrade?

2. What is the list of components include in a brand new The Arm offer? Is there a alignment gague and two counter weight?

What's its new price?

Thanks.

icefox,

the Sumiko MDC 800 was beyond $3000 AFAIR. I have listened to it twice .. was very satified in both cases.

My buddy Hartmut owned one and he told me he regretted selling the thing. He also owned a Moerch DP6 and was happy with it. Nevertheless he estimated the Sumiko Arm as one of the best tonearms ever and definitely better than the DP6.

From my tonearm knowledge as well as from my listening i would second that: "the Arm" should definitely be an upgrade to the DP6.

I have no idea concerning the BOM of a new MDC-800

I've never heard of this arm before.
Any pics of the arm or info on its design?
