I just replaced the RCA cables on my tech 12's but im not using the thick gauge cables that the turntables come with... I am using thinner gold plated RCA cables I got in the hardware store.
I doubt this is the proper solution for RCA cable replacement, so my question is "Is it important (if yes why?) to have the proper gauge RCA cable for the turntables?"

| It's not a question of gauge that is important, it's the adequacy of shielding and the cable capacitance. If it sounds good it's probably ok. |
