Just wanted to say that my BoSoZ is on da way :D

Hi Tobias
A bunch of nice 4-gang pots coming in, send You one next week.
tobias_svensk
Ingvar, you to nice! Did you get my adress?

/Regards
promitheus
Very good work.
I like the pcbs a lot.
Kari
Tobias,
very nice looking project! One question for you: where did you buy your components? ie. resistors, capactiors and so on?

BR
promitheus
what potis are you going to used for balanced output?
tobias_svensk
Hello Kari!

Everything is from ELFA, except PCB, Trafos & Rectifier-diodes
I did buy some 1N4005, but I had some OnSemi MSR860 laying around so I used them instead.

ELFA is pretty expensive but I bought it there anyway :xeye:

I have all the ordering numbers if you want them, but it isn't so hard to find.

Hello promitheus!

I really wish I knew :(

Btw, nice things you got going there!

Hm, maybe I have to look into this:

Tobias, the cheap attenuators you linked to are now receiving a lot of complaints because they are noisy. Loud clicks between positions.

The new thread linked to by UrSv looks like a good thing- but as you will see from my last post there, we BoSoZ people need to stick together and order what we need- it's tough with the balanced output....
UrSv
And Elma makes custom configurations and the prices are not bad.
Variac
I need comments about putting the pot between the 2 outputs.
If so, we can use the same switch Brian is getting, just different resisitors What do you guys think?
UrSv
I think that works fine until you run unbalanced out. I'm sure I saw something somewhere ín a thread that Pass:ed as initiated.
Variac
That's a good point. I may need to run unbalanced out at some point. Using 4 decks, we could make a balanced shunt attenuator.
What do you think of that? An 8 deck attenuator switch is going to be tooo expensive I think- if it's available at all.

I also already have some 6 deck switches which I am planning to use. In this case I would just use 4 of the decks. Mainly I just want a BOSOZ group resistor buy- then people get their switches from Brian.
Nelson Pass
Two 4 deck attenuators - one for input and one for output.
UrSv
One could always contemplate on not using the input ones as most likely (maybe?) most sources will run about the same output level and thus the input divider , if needed, could be tuned to that for the optimum input level. Using 4 deck shunt is simple enough and would be easier to get than 8 deck. I would probably also prefer shunt output attenuation.

Also, Elma does make custom orders and the prices direct from factory are not too bad IMHO. An 8-deck was be perfectly possible and comes with an additional supporting bracket.
tobias_svensk
Tricky thing this :bawling:

Another question:

Is this a correct/suitable position for the NTC?

My PSU board

Thanks

A 4Decker in construction....

I have dismounted two Electroswitch 2 decks to make a 4 decker...
and build a 10 K ladder type
Best regards.

PS: Thanks to Nelson for providing the material.

Alain.

How many are interested in an 8 pole switch?

Im asking cause im already working on a stackable switch, and if enough people would be interested in such, it could be made for a reasonable price.

Magura:)
