| Harry Partch is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. But this composition is brilliant, the recording is excellent and the performance is stellar. Dave Barron does a superb job on the vocal, but the Kronos Quartet is simply unbelievable. I doubt any quartet has surpassed this level of execution in all history. I felt like Jody Foster in "Contact," dazed and in awe muttering, "I had no idea." And I've been listening to string quartets for 45 years. |
