whilst walking through a local industrial supply surplus store , I notice a nice little compact power supply. 110V primary to 700 V. Could I provide 110V to the seconadary winding and end up with 6.6 amps? I know this a very simplistic point of view.

I guess I better dig out Horowitz and Hill and brush up on my basics.

as always a great board for a lot of ideas and support.

yes but only briefly - the ex 700 volt sec side (now primary) will likely severely overheat then breakdown causing a short

basically the wire will be too thin to carry 6.6Amps
