mains wiring - Click HERE for Original Thread

I need to run wires from my power jack to my tranny on my AKSA 55. I have some unmarked 16 guage stranded copper wire. Is this safe to use or do I need something more specialized?

Can I also use this after the bridge to take DCboards?

I can't believe the wire has no markings on it.

Yes, it is safe to use. By the way you phrased your subject and question, I'm guessing you think the AC wiring inside your amp is subject to the National Electrical Code as "mains wiring". It isn't.

No, I'm just paranoid about connecting a plywood box to an electrical outlet and burning my house to the ground.

I misused the term. I probably should have said primary wiring instead.
leadbelly
Ooooh, you really should throw some metal in there to ground the AC components to. Maybe just a little plate inside the plywood.

I will. The front and rear panels are aluminum and the power switch and iec socket are mounted on the rear plate.
