I have seen 2 MH bulbs.

- A big one with a screw socket
- A bulb with connectors on both sides

Whats the difference between these 2?

really MH

looks like a flood lamp type.......

dat lijkt me geen MH te zijn, misschien heb ik het verkeerd maar dat plat type is meer een flood lamp en dat geeft een vlakke uitstraling

Yeah that was my second thought, no good for projection though as that bulbs arc is miles too long, the cdm-t is also ceramic, ofcourse abit diff to the above design but id like to know the temp that the ceramic gets too lol i guess u could say white hot.

Hey, this is my first post... wooooo!!!

Anyway, the first (screw) light is -NOT- MH, it is HPS (High Pressure Sodium). It will be far far too yellow for using in an OHP.

Yes, now I see, the first one isn't a MH bulb.

This is a MH bulb :D (E40)

Is there any advantage is there having a double ended bulb over a screw in type (when both bulbs are MH)?
Figero
As far as I am awear it just means you need a different fitting for each. I think the purpose of have two types is for different situations - the double ended ones can be used in compact situations where there may be alot of vibrations whereas the screw fitting ones are (I think) cheaper to manufacture and have a more generic fitting.
