The ****** is eluding me. Anybody know where to get both?

what made you decide 150 cdm-t over 250 MH? I'm trying to decide between the two for my 7" projector as well...
wish I could afford both so I could see the difference... |
|
|
| jtbullet |
| ace's advice and bulb price! I will have $120 inmy light ballast and socket, not bad i dont think. |
|
|
| slickhorn |
I'm soliciting ace's advise as well... what did he say that convinced you?
I ask because that cdmt ballast is magnetic. From alan at diy, the 250W ballast/socket/bulb is $150, and replacement bulbs are $30....
I'd like to have the quieter, more energy efficient eletronic ballast.
I wonder if the 250 is just too much light for the 7"? |

Well, I trust ace's construction over everything else i've seen.
Any other supplers for that g12? It only allows me to choose singapore as an address! |
|
|
| slickhorn |
shoot...that's the only place I've seen for that base.
You might try the hello lights website. I'll look around when I get some free time, if you don't post that you've found it already
I was planning to order from them. that sucks. wonder if an email would work? maybe they'll ship to the states if you ask? |

| OK I ordered my $88 ballast, now the produciton advantage says they cant get the bulb! ****! |

Write to Neil at production advantage:

The G12/3801 with leads is available at $7.80 each.
They have a $25 minimum order, but they can get the bulbs and ballasts too.

they should have that bulb in stock...I think it's $42 or so though. on the bulb link I posted search for "150" or "cdm" and you'll find the section. they have several different bulbs.
oops...just saw your post...that sucks. I talked to them last week and they had them...
when I spoke to them, the couldn't get ballasts though -- what do you know about their ballasts brainchild? |
|

| i got the ballast on order from hellolights. I am going to cancel if i cant get the right bulb. |

Here's what he wrote:
I've done some research and come up with two ballasts that my
distributor has in stock. They are both rated for the CDM150/T6/942
metal halide lamp. One is a dual ballast and the other is a
quad/multi-tap.
Part# Description
Unit$
71A5482 Dual M-H ballast, 120/277V, M102/M142 $148.35
71A5492 Quad M-H ballast, 120/208/240/277V, M102 $135.45 |

| these are for the cdm/t6/sa bulb. Any idea where i can get that one? |

I won an auction on ebay.de. should have it here in next week or so. they are running from 5 euro - 20 euro normally, letter post shipping about $6 to US. but 942's are harder to find.
I suppose you can use normal 150 MH ballast for CDM-T bulb. M81, M102, M142 are all OK. |
|
|
| jtbullet |
| ok i got a 942, 4200k. $66 shipped. I got a ballast on the wasy, now i need a socket. |

| anyone find out the specs on that HTI150 bulb posted by a user before, it looked smaller than the cdm-t |
|
|
| 18wheeler |
| I think HTI is GE version of CDM-T. UHI is Ushio brand. They have the same specs. I saw them listed in a cross-reference table. |

CMH is what mines got and its a GE cdm-t, comes under constant colour too, CMH = ceramic metal halide.

Osram has the same CDM-T 150 W lamp, but they call it Powerstar HCI-T, but if you can get that in a 4200K version, I donīt know. A 150W HQI is smaller than a CDM-T lamp, but it has the same data.
The G12 base/holder is easy to make. Two halogen holder and some screws. |

the Lidra-sg store now ship this socket to US. The price for socket is very reasonable at $6.50, but the shipping is high at $22 for one socket. The shipping is the same for 8 sockets, and increases to $30 for orders of 9-16 sockets. I would like to setup a group buy so we can get it for ~$10. once it arrives, it can be shipped out by first class mail which is about $1-$1.50 to most place in US.
If you are interested please email me at 18wheeler@earthlink.net.

seems the ballast is M81 (double ended HQI bulb), can this be used to drive CDM-T lamp? |
