Modest IGBT SE project - Click HERE for Original Thread

As I couldn't resist buying some Infineon IGBTs for the start price at ebay, I was wondering what to do with them.

IGBTs are neither designed for linear circuits, nor were attempts to use them this way very successfull.

Anyway, I decided that working as a follower in SE class A, isn't impossible for any amplifying device which can stand the dissipation.

This resulted in this circuit idea:
PDF: http://www.linearaudio.de/scratch/IGBT-3.pdf
LTSpice: http://www.linearaudio.de/scratch/IGBT-3.asc

(Actual IGBTs will be SKW20N60, didn't have a model for them)

Input and output dressing as well as protection is missing.

Bootstrap was the easiest way to work around the large turn-on voltage of the IGBT.

Any comments?

Regards,
Peter Jacobi
