Does anybody know where to buy high quality input selector switches? They would be for a small project- to add to the total number of inputs for my stereo. Also, would the switch impact the sound of the system in any way? TIA

What kind of switches are you talking about??
And how will it be connected to your existing input selector?

ELMA makes some good rotary switches, where you easily can add 6 stereo inputs to your existing input.

All components in the signal path will have some influence on the sound. Try checking out the Electronics and Parts forum, or make a search for "Input Selector" ;)

Hi ACD,
I don't believe Elma is good:

I got my Electroswitches from www.alliedelec.com and the Shallco from Michael Percy.

I have a few mil spec selector switches which would do the job nicely. $10 + $4 shipping. If you're interested, I'll dig them up and give you some more info.

Sorry, wrong price. It's $20. Here is the original thread where I posted them for sale some time back.

thanks! i'm not really sure what type to get though.. there are so many, like 6 pole 2 position, etc.. this would be for an external box- to add more inputs
ACD
How many extra inputs do you need ???
bonsai171
well it would be great to have maybe 3 or 4 more

That's strange,-'cause the Elma switches have been concidered being top notch for a great many years. That doesn't mean there aren't others , though.......... Didn't NP also comment on discarding a load of Electroswith recently,--- apparently for quality reasons ??

By definition ( and by fact) , the corrosion resistance is a lot higher for gold than silver. The problem might indicate presence of dust causing mechanical abrasion, or air pollution...???

Whether silver sounds better than gold, is probably more of a question for the metaphysical department.....
