hi guys (and gals)!
i have scanned the net for information/specs. on these devices (opamps) ...but nothing, does anyone have any clue regarding the specs.?
those little fellows are encapsulated in 8 pin DIP package.
Are they dual opamps or just single ones?
any HELP would be appreciated
kind regards

Hi Ludvig!
They are dual op amp and bipolars...i never find nothing about them in the net.
They are very much used by the majors japonese manufacturers.(Pioneer , Onkyo, etc) in the phono input stage!
Is not much , but is all i know!! :) |

| Hi Ludwig... I planned to change these M5218 as well. Did you do it (back then in 2002)? and did it work out satisfactory? |

| If i was not wrong, datasheets of both are available at www.datasheetarchive.com.Personally for replacement of them,i will try any dual audio OP-AMP as long as pins compatibility is not an issue.:) |

| You'll have more luck searching for M5218 (with A, AF, or AFP suffixes) and NJM4570 or JRC4570. |

I found the datasheet here: http://www.datasheetarchive.com/sea...5218&sType=part
I changed the 5218 (slew rate 3 V/us) by and OPA2134 (slew rate 20 V/us) and put two larger capacitors in the power supply. A great improvement. more power in a shorte base, more open sound, more solid, softer mid. Absolute worthewile the 10 Euro's I paid for the 2134! |
