I have Sony X7esd cd-player and I am trying to upgrate the unit. Doing this I accidentally ruined a chip with number AD42712. Does anybody knows this chip? And is it known what could be used as a substitue? I am really desperate as there is no support for this player from Sony

non clue what this chip is but www.aeri.com has 4 in stock...
Cr3ator
AD indicates it's manufactured at Analog Devices.
http://www.usbid.com has got 3 resourses for that device. Also no clue about what it's function is. Perhaps you could try to email Sony?

If you contact Sony's local service and parts department they mostlikely will have it in stock and if not they can order it for you.

This would most likely be an AD712, if it's an 8 pin DIP or SO.
