I cant say what the Standard leach amp sounds like But the Supper Leach i Built But with several Importent upgrades like Separate left and Right Channel Power supplys and Separate Voltage Regulation for the Front End Gain stages run off another set of Power trans former Sec windings. Nice sound Better than a ML#23 in upper octive Extention and Transparrancy. The improvements in Tranparrency is perported to come from the Casscoded Output Stage vs the Standard Output stage as used in the standard Leach.
BTW use MJ-15024 and MJ-15925 or MJ-2194 ?... and MJ-2195?.... Rather than the lesser performing 16003 and 15004 Types Discribed by Leach. |

I'd also recommend using the MJ21193/4 output device; they're
supposed to be a little more linear and a good bit more rugged.
I'm using them in my "regular' ver 4.5 Leach amp and they work
just fine.
I'm very pleased with the sound quality. |
