Hey all,

Our tech at work sent me this really cool link. It is a virtual laser keyboard that you can hook up to laptops, PDA, desktops, etc. It's going to be realeased soon by a company called iBIZ. This is a very cool article, and definitely worth the look!

Paul I saw this a few months back On tech TV, Looks cool but in reality I dont see the reason for it besides the Novelty factor, I havent read your artical that you linked yet But I wonder how Room lighting, things on the skin, Projected surface etc that will affect this working properly, I kn tell you this keep a real keyboard around..........Lets not forget people whom have USB mice and sometimes they decided to not Connect( especially wireless ones) Mine is your standard PS2 conncetion, lets not rey and re-invent the wheel. Somethings just dont need improvement on......well to me anyways( and thats just me)

Hmmmmmmm u wouldnt want to have manny buggs flying around or u could get manny errors, i agree with video freak on this, i see it as a waste of time, the idea is there though but i see there will be more bad points then good points to this type of keyboard, not only that laser light is realy bad for your eyes weather looking at it directly or not.

I saw it when I was on CeBit, Hanover 2002 when it was sintroduced.
Too bad you can't feel buttons - very inconvenient - have to stare at your 'keyboard' all the time. With conventional keyboard your hands automaticle correct their position so you won't miss next key. Might be good for small devices though.

I don't think this is a waste of time. It is a great idea. The mature product is not neccesarily the same in the future. I believe it aims PDA users, like me. Any conventional keyboard is too big for PDA. to be honest, I don't like the curent product neither. It's too big, bugy, and error-prone.

Let me start to dream: the PDA I will use within next 10 years will be intergrated to the frame of my eyeglasses, have 30 GHz CPU, laser projected (3D) image, gyro rings on my fingers as a mouse, and will make phone calls for me to the moon... OK, let's get pass the moon part, but others are pretty much possible within the technoledge limits. The projected laser keyboard will be a step toward those goals.
