Hey guys

Take a look at this - http://www.es.com/resources/eslp.pdf

I'd sure like to make a DIY version of one of them but at the moment there is not enough info on laser projection technology.

i dont think this is something u can make yourself. i mean look how hard it is to build a good quality working lcd projector.

everything is not diy-able?
freeupyermind
no, but if there ever was a reason to give up on diy and buy one this would be it!
jake
I'd build it but it would be VERY EXPENSIVE and the technology is only made by one company - therefore making it not very widely available

I remeber someone talking about this on this forum or the greenspun forum along time ago. But they were going to use 3 super bright LED green/blue/red and focus them on the as one pixel using two mirrors one horizontal and vertical that vibrate at the refresh rate of the signal coming in. Its just like a big electron gun used in television except it projects on the wall instead of a tv screen. I don't know if they completed but it sound really hard.

Jake,

Evans and Sutherland has been making flight and training simulators for several years. They make some awesome stuff but because they supply the aerospace industry and military contractors they have a different concept of inexpensive. I would be willing to bet that their least expensive product is 20 - 30k USD.

However, I could find out. Their main headquarters is about 10 miles from my home.

Ace,

I think I saw their website in my searches but I was never able to determine if their products were aimed at consumers or at commercial uses. I got the impression they were targeting the commercial sector.
