Hello from Tennessee - Click HERE for Original Thread
Jason Watts
Here is a little information about my self. I was born and raised in the mountains of East Tennessee. I have been building audio enclosure and been into audio design for about the last ten years. It all started in high booming around town with two 15" subs in the trunk. I didn’t know much about it then but managed to make it through college and graduate with a B.S. in physics. Physics gave me a working knowledge of mathematics, mechanics (harmonic motion), and electronics. With those tools and many audio enclosures later I managed to learn a little something about audio design and the acoustical physics. I work as a physicist in industry and I am currently working on my masters in nuclear engineering at the University of Tennessee. I have a wife and one sharp little boy and another on the way. I own a small machine shop and backyard physics lab. I love to prototype and construct new enclosure and enjoy the science behind the sound. I have plans to build two new loudspeaker speaker enclosures in the next few weeks. One is for a local recording studio and the other is for an individual. I am just a plain ole born and raised on the back side of Iron Mountain East Tennessee hillbily.

Hi Jason

Welcome and greetings from a "neighbor." I'm a southern flatlander transplanted into the Appalachian Mountains about 12 years ago. Y'all have hog joules and black-eyed peas last week?
We sure did! :)

All I can say about your first post is that I am humbled.

May I first ask, what seasonings if any do y'all add to your jowls and peas? I Got a big chunk of jowl in the freez to serve and eat.

My father imparted to me an interest in the sciences before I reached my teens. So when I became deeply interested in music the two naturally mixed together. But only at the level of a technician in some areas and pure amateur in others. And by the looks of some on this list, not an especially good amateur. (as ever, I am both humbled and inspired ) The fundamental motivation for involvement with audio is the reward provided by experiences of the musically "strong" kind. And for me these come from a fairly wide range within what is mostly considered "classical" (not Classical) literature.

And you, sir?
