I dunno, amazing!! I was keeping an eye on that panel out of curiosity myself. I paid quite a lot for a few panels in my early days. Think Ill have to put some of them up for auction see what I get!!

i was watching it too! only £1.30 last night im glad i didn't bid for it tho as the response time is really poor and im after one for xbox.

do you know of any that are fast enough for games and that are cheap as im a complete n00b at this lol

i would put them up as i havent seen one go for less than a ton

I think it depends what type of games you wanna play. I can only talk of my experience with the panels I have, and my set up. I dont think response time is a big factor as long as you get a reasonable panel (30 ms) the trouble I experienced is the size of the screen, ie you have to turn your head to see one side of the screen to the other (I have my set up in my pc room which is only about 8'x8', with the screen size at 72" ish and Im sitting sorta 5' from it with the overhead behind me) The other problem is dark scenes. As you know panels dont compare to lcd monitors for conrast. I tried playing day of defeat online with it, fine on bright scenes but go into a darkened room and you cant see a thing. As i said it just depends on what games you wanna play. I tried a ps1 and demolition derby on a panel and that was fine, but its a bright game. (and an old one, had to blow the dust off)

Oh the other panel from the same seller was stil £1.20 last time I looked. A kinderman, couldnt find any specs on it (though I didnt look too hard I have to say) but if you can get it for next to nothing, why not?
spookywillow
i also looked at that panel , but like you said, no specs.

as for games i play a lot of cs (xbox, SpookyWillow if anyone wants to get a whooping!) and i have an old GE imager LCD10E and like you say some scenes are too dark but wouldn't a brighter lamp reduce that darkness?

(i know of someone who has about 8 imager lcd150 and some have lamplife left, good for a retrofit as they are cheap! email me for details)

What are those? I have a 3m 3400 ohp, a bargain off ebay, came with two lamps in it plus a spare, all for £21 plus P+P!! (the seller had spelt overhead wrong) no specs on it, but judgng from the lamp and comparing it to my 3m 9080 (which chucks out 2500 lumens) it must be rated at 4000 lumens, plus it has a longer throw distance. Its definately improved the look of my projected image. I would go down the route of retrofitting an ohp, would rather build a custom enclosure. I have an nview spectra pro, which i was considering taking apart for this purpose cos it has a smaller lcd than most panels so would cut down on the size of the enclosure. Not a bad panel actually. Have been trying out different panels the last couple of days to see what gives the best image.

sorry i forgot to put projectors lol

they are production projectors and when i say cheap, 1 went in an auction for $78 and he has more.

What are the specs on those? You have a link?
spookywillow
no specs im afraid, mine is ok but the resolution is a bit low (i can see the pixels quite easily) but its good enough to watch tv and play xbox, dvds seem to be really dark when played on my xbox so i play em on my dvd player, the lumens is quite low i think maybe about 200-300, my lamp is half used and according to what ive read in this forum they lose brightness at the same rate as their life ie, 50%life left=half as bright as it was new.

this is the lcd 150

is the infocus 1600gs any good (fast response etc)
freebie
I couldnt see anything on it, but as the infocus 1600ls is passive I would guess not. The auctions youre looking at are in the states, how much shipping are you talking about?
spookywillow
my bro has just bought a qa1500 and shipping was $50 so around that i suppose, all panels in the uk are way over priced as the auction in my previous post proves so the states is the only option:xeye:

I did pay quite a lot for a couple of the panels I have, but you can get a bargain if you look around and use obscure search terms. Ive seen panels listed as "lcd tablets" or under "projection screen" I got a 3m 6450 panel for £41 with all cables and two remotes and carry case, I saw two of these go for £170 recently. Just gotta do some searching.

LOL... I was looking at that unit too, I backed out early.
There aren't many LCD units on e-bay for us Brits :P

After a long search |I finally purchased one off ebay for £83.

I'm after a decent OHP now, I was considering buying a 4000 lumens OHP, but they cost way too much, so I am now considering buying a 250w projector off ebay and retrofitting it.

I hope that I can pull it off! and be a happy punter!
