I have this Compaq TFT450 LCD Monitor 1024x768 15" monitor.
I was wondering if I could use it for a diy projector.
I've been looking into using 100 super-bright white leds infront of a fernel and this lcd and have that go through a projection lense.
Any ideas?
Thanks a ton!

If the Compaq TFT450 is anything like the TFT500 (they look identical from the picture you've posted) then it will have a 24 wire flexi cable that will need extending before the rest of the boards can be placed out of the way.
As for the LED's you theoretically need more like a 1000 before you'll start getting a sensible brightness on your output. |

| 1000 LEDs at even $1 each is more than you would spend on the light engine components from a professional projector isn't it? |

I wasn't really trying to imply whether I thought it was a good idea or not though, more providing facts in answer to the original question. |
