I have an oportunity to buy this from a local auction here in argentina? http://www.logicsupply.com/product_...products_id/138
I am looking on ebay for nice high rez laptop screen i can use to work with it. Does anyone know what i should look for? I found inspiron 7000 screen cheap but cant find out it it will work or has lvds interface. If an screen had lvds interface will I still need a lvds receiver or some other card? I ask because I noticed all laptop screen seem to have a strange ribbon cable only and nothing that looks like you can just plug in an lvds cable from the motherboard.
The auction ends soon for things. Please help me. |

Ohoh,
Think there's a mistake here...
Sure it will be more than fast enough for Mpeg4...
(not good at all for gaming, but movies.. OK)
But, I'm not sure about the LVDS to use with your laptop screen...
Wish ya luck |

| A 600MHz Via Eden isn's as fast as you might think. It's like a 300MHz Intel PII |

Ok, you might be right with your comparison
but, I play Mpeg 4 on my PII 333 under WIN98 with just 128 Mb of ram (and a Geforce4MX, but that doesn't really matter i think)...
So normally it isn't a problem... |

| whats the max rez this thing can handle? |

| It will work fine, if it doesnt support the divx playback then you can get hardware decoders now for divx!! |

| Hey just to add to my post above. Why dont you just avoid the whole problem and get a better board. Why take the risk of having to buy a decoder for $40-$60. Look at this ....http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-E-M1GXL&c=pw and it has the lvds! And it even had surround sound and all. nice |

This setting refers to the native resolution of the display being used with the
system. Settings: 1600x1200, 1400.1050, 1280,1024, 1280x768,1024x768, 800x600
and 640x480
Hope that helps.

I thought of that but then I figured why would they mention 1024x768 for tv out. Tvs cant display that kind of res can they or cant benefit from it anyway. Maybe they ment hd tvs?
Ok so what laptop screens can we hook up to this thing right out of the box? |
