zoom anamorphic lens design - Click HERE for Original Thread

Guys,

Is there anyone out there with more advanced lens system design who can critique this design. It is intended to be both a zoom and an adjustable anamorphic lens.

The final projection lens is a cooke triplet and both the cylindrical miniscus and the double concave are independently movable.

The idea is that the double concave makes the entering light wave more paraxial so that the light enters the cylindrical miniscus at nearly an ideal angle. Moving the double concave would zoom the image in and out and moving the cylindrical miniscus would compress the image vertically.

Would this combination have adequate image performance assuming the parameters were optimized in a lens design software.

The following sketch is only descriptive and is not intended to be exactly optically correct.
