After recently hearing about the theft of a picture of a dear friend of mines wife for use on a scam, ive decided to dedicate this thread in hopes it will become a permanent to the unmasking and stopping of picture theft from our results for viscious scams on ebay! Here is the first one i have found, towards the bottom there are pictures, starting with the one of the simpsons, that belong to someone on this site, i can't remember who exactly but they do, so this is their chance to stop this person, maybe someone else can help me with finding out who they belong too and contacting them if they don't get a chance to see this post!

In order to get a post removed from ebay you need to contact ebay and get setup as a vero. (verified rights owner). (it is fairly simple) Then anytime some one posts one of your images you simply fill out a online form and the auction is gone. You could probably get it setup for one person in this forum to be the "authorized" person and that way only 1 person would have to be setup as the owner (IANAL though).
Of course the best part would be if they would just link to your picture (then you could replace the pic with anything you want <evil grin> and it would appear on their auction </evil grin> but now most pic stealers just take the picture and host it with ebay so you cannot do that. |

A bit off topic but a warez site cracked my shareware software a few months ago and put a screenshot on their site that was linked directly off mine so I <evilgrin>replaced it with a certain G-man</evilgrin>:D |

Our entire website and projector guide have been stolen by this guy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=2778158889
He bought the guide from us, and then asked for a refund (about 1 minute after his purchase)... which we gave him. Now he's trying to sell our guide for half price!
AAggghhhhh!!!! |

Well, we were ripped off in a big way:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3069700068&rd=1
DO NOT BUY THESE THIS IS STOLEN PROPERTY
This guy bought the guide and demanded a refund about 1 minute later. Now we know what his motivations were.
I've reported him to ebay but he's already gotten sales :(
Anyway big props to a friend who spotted this and told us about it.
I'd like to offer to anyone who brings intellectual property theft of lumenlab materials to our attention FREE guides for as long as lumenlab is in business.
Thanks, Grayson |

Brainchild. You can also email anybody that bids on his auctions and tell them where he got it from and what circumstances. Ask any of the past winners to leave him negative feedback stating that the seller is selling stolen information.
It's very common in the pinball world, there are so many vigilantes who watch and keep track of different sellers who like to post the same pictures over and over again, even though they claim that all the machines are different. These vigilantes will email bidders and forwarn them. It may seem like a jerk thing to do if your selling something and someone emails your bidder telling them that they bid on ****, but if you were the bidder, I don't think you'd mind. |

Another thing to do is to get yourself registered with ebay's VERO program. I've been dinged by them before and had auctions shut down by them. (Even though it was a legal auction, if the VERO member says so, you are guilty until proven innocent)
Anyway, the VERO program is Verified Rights Owners. I don't know how you become a member of VERO, but if you are, I think all you have to do is let ebay know that someone is selling something that you own the rights to, and ebay will kill it instantly.
FWIW: I was selling a Ms Pacman. My auction was killed because it said it had a reproduction overlay on the control panel. I didn't say that it was a liscensed overlay purchased from someone with Namco's permission to reprint them. So Namco killed my auction. I had to send several emails back and forth with Namco and ebay before they would let me post it again. Was a pain. I ended up selling it locally anyway. |
