$300 17" CirCity LiquidVideo FAQs ?:] - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi All-

I just bought a nice 17" LiquidVideo LCD monitor at Circuit City, $299 after rebate. FAQ info about it are hard to find, so mebbe this is the place to gather it?:]

One thing- there's descrepancy at CC about the warranty; mine came with a card that says one year. CC people & some reviews are saying 3 months, so check the paper that comes with it.

There is an old thread here 'CMV 1515 in Disguise?' which relates.

The user reviews at CC are generally favorable except for the usual suspects- bad pixels & weak onboard speakers.

It was made by NexGen in Taiwan- they have a minimal English language website.

I have a problem with mine that I think is merely adjustment, but I have a Q about that. The XP OS help system says some refresh rates can damage hardware; I have 2 icons in Control Panel- one is for INTEL GRAPHICS, one is DISPLAY; so all together there are 3 places to control res & refresh (3rd is monitor menu. ) The computer itself is a wheezy old emachine with graphics on the motherboard, so I don't want to burn it out.

What is the right procedure to explore res/refresh? I apparently have 'wiggly' horizonal in less than SXGA.

Feel free to email me; not on line much. Also add any info for other probs to this thread if you want...

welcome to the wonderfull world of "scaling" thats any resolution
other than the native i dont think any refresh rate is gonna help you
another shortcoming of lcd technology :bawling: :bawling:

but if you want to try just change it in your display properties
just make sure you have a crt on hand to hook up if you lcd says "out of range" or you could reboot in safe mode and change back to the refresh you were at before it went out of range
your not gonna hurt that lcd it will go out of range before you fry it
