I´ve read in the forum that the overhead projector should be 4.000 lumen aprox. por good results, my question is, if i get an OHP with less lumens, can i upgrade it changing with more powerfull bulbs? or did it crash it? Should i change the fan too? Thanks in advance.

yes you can, but pehaps you must doing little adaptation for your new light...

1. depend Voltage and Power of new light
2. Hallogen or HQI => HQI need ballast
3. yes pehaps you need mount a more big fan (but you need test for saying)

good luck

the question is that in spain is a little difficult to find an OHP, i have foud one of 2500 lumens, exactly a kindermann with 2 halogen lamp 400 watt, and i would know if i could install a MHC150/U/M/4K Light Bulb which has more life hours.
Is it possible? What is a ballast??, i've read a threat about create an own ballast, but i don't understand what is it used for.
Could you help me please, i would be very pleased.

hi

a ballast is for doing a high voltage for ligh style HQI (the same system for neon light)

but a 400 W halogen is more suffisent for start a diy projector and doing test :D
