Condenser height... - Click HERE for Original Thread
chasse
I did built a light engine and i tested it.I use a mh 175 watt with a refflector and 60 mm condenser.I will use it with a 7 inchs LCD.
The beam is not wide enough to cover the entire 7 inchs rectangular cardboard at 6.2 inchs distance that i use to test. I found a 7 inchs fresnel with 6.22 fl but want to know if i can use it before i buy it .
This is a bi-convex condenser and the light bulb is touching it.

Does a bigger condenser, say 70 mm, will enlarge the beam of light enough to cover the back frensel.

Does a plano-convex condenser give a wider beam at short distance.
