The best speaker crossover in the world

Warning... don't be drinking anything while looking at this item (unless you want to spray that coke thru your nose onto your keyboard :)

Good on you Steve.

I rather like the ULTIMATE power supply:

I thought none of them are as funny as those claims on cables and all those theories behind them.

We can find quite a few of them right here in this otherwise intelligent forum.

I agree with you 98%, but I feel it's pointless taking the old arguments round in circles. More than 1/2 the world believes in things that I don't.:xeye:

Read that crossover ad again. :D

I finally got the high bid. Let's see how long that lasts. :)

Ah, thanks. Don't read the loudspeaker forum much. :)

He, nice power supply, but I am afraid my backyard is not big enough :clown:

But I can start with these:

I am sorry for those who cannot read German but anyway you can get the idea :D

Cheers ;)

Steve, Steve, Steve.

I knew there was a reason why I liked that guy.

Do those auctions end up being a free way to boost your feedback rating? It's a little suspicious, but might be purely for humor. I was once scammed by a seller who accumulated feedback selling small <$5 items before posting a frenzy of auctions for products with values in the hundreds and thousands.

Better for those not understanding.

If somebody bid on it it`s not free - he has to pay sales fee.
It`s not purely for humor - it`s just a kind of clever advertising - and besides this is really funny.
BTW: The "seller", Steve, is a member of this board (member name is 7V)

He must've been paying a lot to post his humor on eBay then. Otherwise he can negate the transaction through eBay Sellers Tools and not have to pay the fee.

It is interesting, like the hands-free cellphone holder/rubberband. But I'm sure I've seen this on eBay over a year ago.

He has to pay the listing fee, that is non-refundable.

And the best thing is that he makes a defendable sonic point in the humor: "Absolutely, positively the best loudspeaker crossover on the planet" is no crossover at all.

What will that guy think of next? :D
SkinnyBoy
he closes the auction early... and sends out an emails... lol

"Hi Guys

Thank you very much for bidding on this item. Unfortunately, I was taking it out of its cabinet (not included) ready to dispatch it to the lucky winner, when I dropped it. Try as I might I can't find it so it looks as if I will have to end this auction early. I hope that you're not too disappointed. I guess that's what can happens when you try to sell invisible items.

Also, when I auctioned this crossover in the UK, bids reached £10 million. I realize that you've probably not quite as crazy on your side of the pond but if two of my competitors made very high last minute bids (say $10 million again), the commissions I would have to pay eBay could be horrendous.

Thanks for participating.
Best regards and seasonal greetings
Steve"

I hope you're not too disappointed Skinnyboy. Although, I'd bet that xover would have sounded great in your system.;)

I was really just trying to get some more ebay feedback.. I was willing to spend the $1.70 on it too.. lol

Hi all,

Steve's at it again. A perfect Christmas/New Years gift for that audio nut in your life. Ok, it's a bit late for this Christmas but I guess that you could buy it now and store it to next Christmas. Oops might go off?

I see dhaen is off to a good start. Let the best man win!

How did I miss this thread?

I thought I'd cracked it with the power station item. It got picked up by BBC Radio Shropshire and put on the news every hour for a whole day. This was then picked up by BBC Online who also interviewed me. Unfortunately they didn't use the item. Pity, it would have been the best £20 (ish) I ever spent on advertising.

Normally I let the items run to completion. I had to stop the 'perfect crossover' auction as someone in England had bid £10 million. The commissions would have been horrendous.

EBay feedback? Yes, it is one way of getting some - not how I got most of mine though.

Actually, Audiogon has been the best medium for the three adverts. I had to remove the links (dynamic and static) from the eBay items to stop them being banned - so they were less effective. Interestingly, I got the best response from Audiogon on the crossover item while eBayers preferred the power station.

Many thanks for your kind comments and my best wishes for a happy, successful and musical 2004.
