Hi Y'all,

First, thanks to those who make these forums possible and all you contributors--a very nice cyber place indeed.

Been building speaker cabinets every now and then since 1962. I gave up building mains after hearing some electrostatics:) My Accoustats died several years ago and I've been without speakers for serious listening until very recently when I could spring for a pair of ML Prodigies. I'm in the processes of completing my system--recently finished building an effects channel sub and will post a pic on the loudspeaker forum in the next day or two. Next I need to build some sub's to go with the ML's. I'm not competent to do serious design, but one of my hobbies is woodworking so I'm not too bad at the construction end of things. Anyway I'll be scrounging around here for ideas and help on those subs.

I'm big into ambience and my current system will include at least 6 channels of reverb (not including the surround and rear channels). I will use 3 two-channel effects processors and to that end am presently evaluating the Beringer DSP 2024P. I guess the ambience forum is under "Everything Else."

Thanks again,

eStatic

Hi eStatic,

Welcome to the forum. As you have already seen, there's a lot here to get into. You may get some tips on speaker design, but I'm your wood working experience will be helpful to others. That's how it works.

WRT your Ambience/Surround processor questions, you can post those in the Digital forum.

Have fun,

whereabouts in the blue ridge are you?

i grew up in the foothills, in SC. ... then lived a little further east in NC. but i spent a lot of my childhood weekends taking hikes through the woods, looking at waterfalls, rock hopping, etc.

my favorite area to visit was around asheville. all the years i lived there, and i never made it to the biltmore estate.

/andrew - also enjoys living in san francisco

Hi Jason! Good to hear from another "mountain man" :) If you can get from Erwin to Asheville in 30 minutes you must really fly!
