to3 cases mounted on top of the amplifer. seems interesting IMO. so i guess if you have an old broken car audio amplifer, well, i guess you could still use it for something! |

To tell you the thruth, I have for a long time been looking for a source of any of those car amp enclosures/ heatsinks. They would be great for a SS amp project. So far, I haven't been successfull (but I could use a broken one of course, or even a discounted one, probably not much more expensive than a good sink). Anybody does know of a source for these?

Buy a cheap Chinese made amp and gut it. Look for one at a pawn shop, a flea market or the like as you don't care if it works or not. You willnever get a lower cost enclosure. Plus you get a tolerable toroid transformer and all the little hardware bits and pieces that are so expensive in the DIY market..

| That sounds like a good idea. I have an old case from a 1500W inverter. |
