Anyone know an online Resonant Engineering dealer?
P.S. What do you all think of their XXX18's?
Thanks |

Contact them directly, if you don't have a dealer near you, they will sell to you direct at better prices.
They're OK. |

the xxx18 has stupid specs
the adire audio maelstrom has better specs
however i have HEARD neither, but modeled both .
The high Qts on the xxx18 makes it want a HUGE box that is impossible for nice response.
Its not amazingly efficient either. |

has anyone noticed how all the new SPL subs have low efficiency. like xxx, w7, and 9500 (mtx).
also the xxx has XBL^2 technolgy, which is similar to orion's new Orion Dual Gap Motor except it was made before orion's version and all... in any case dual gaps with a short coil allow for something of a class AB speaker... the coil is shared by the 2 gaps for part of the excursion. the result is that the BL curve becomes pretty flat and very wide. this reduces IMD and increases Xmax. |

No one buys a RE XXX 18 for a nice response. You only buy that one for a HUGE SPL.... nothing more, nothing less.
Indeed, you will get a pretty weird response, but you only need the peak it will have with the "correct" tuning.

P.S. With "correct" I mean the right tuning for your car. DON'T use it for home-cinema or music.
P.S. You might also be interested in the DigitalDesigns 9515?? |

To be on-topic: I don't know one in the US that sells them online, only in Germany, but as punchpeanut told you: just contact them directly, you WILL get a good price...

Slightly OT but the guys question has been answered..| quote: | | has anyone noticed how all the new SPL subs have low efficiency | small box requirements...
Definately.its crazy.
the adire audio Maelstrom looks agreeable to me.
or a 4ohm version of this-
21" sub

+ then people have to buy 2kw amps instead of 1kw ones
its ok for car audio ,and if ulive in USA u can get such cheap stuff
down under,u pay $$$$ for shipping . |
