Can anyone tell me how to extract the clock from incoming SPDIF DAta ?
RobM
Use an SPDIF interface chip (like the CS8414) and grab the clock line off of that ;)

I beleive this chip recovers the clock from the incoming data using a PLL. I wanted to know whether there is any other method also to recover the clock.

Hi,

You may use the CS8415 as it uses the preamble to feed the PLL circuit. At leat the data dependancy of the jiter decreases.

If you want to do a better job, you may consider a secondary PLL circuit with much lower cut off frequency and a decent VCXO.

In my designs I obtain about 8 ps jitter.
