I'm looking for a simple but good phono pre.

The Grado unit sounds pretty okay to me but is far from complete:

Help with identifying some caps and their values on a phono preamp

Any other options like this one?

May I suggest you peruse this little thread?

It shows a Phonostage (yes I designed it) that is simple, effective and can be realised pretty affordable. FWIW, I'd use a pair of 12V/2.1AH Sealed Lead Acid batteries as supply. A fully charged pair of batteries will run the Phonostage without MC Pre-Pre for over 100 Hours....

Oh yes, the Styroflex (Polystyrene Caps) in the Grado are old stock LCR made, still comon in the UK, sound okay but not great.
