A free Hi-Fi News CD (in UK) - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi everyone,

Anyone else picked up this months Hi-Fi News, with the free Eleanor McEvoy disc? I think you may have to buy it from WH-Smiths to get it.

Anyway, I just thought it was worth a mention, always good to get 'free' music. Not particularly my type, but still very enjoyable.

Interesting thing is it's been 'specially remastered for Hi-Fi News', which is amusing.

As one would possibly assume, the bass is stunning, there is zero harshness (at least on the newer tracks), and it is not overly compressed. Impressive sounds, and free!! I love track 2 already.

thats really annoying that you should mention have to buy it at WHsmish, I get it on subscription, maybe I should complain!

Woo! A reply after only, ooh, over three months, hehe.

It is crazy that you had to buy it from WHSmiths, makes me glad I don't subscribe!

Ah well, the CD isn't anything special, but good for 'free' :D

Lol three months, show how much I look at the Music boards:D

Even though the CD might not be brilliant its really the principle behind the matter. The freebie CD's are a great way to introduce you to someone new without having to spend any money!

Indeed.

That's also my justification for listening to streaming Internet radio and MP3 downloads :)

(Actually I dont like MP3s, but without them there are many CDs I wouldn't have known to buy!)

Anyway, I hope Hi-Fi News do more discs like it, the sound is very nice, and some tracks are very good...
