Hi,
does anyone here know where to find the T/S parameters of the Focal 8P511 unit?
It's a pretty old unit (about 18 to 20 years). A friend of mine got 2 of them from another forum-member (THNX for that) and he couldn't find the T/S parameters. I looked over about 50 Klang&Ton's but i couldn't find it also. (google.com doesn't give any results also)
Who can help him out?
Thnx!

I have an old Focal brochure which mentions a kit that uses the 8P511 (KIT 430). Unfortunately there are no T/S parameter in the brochure.
I also have an old Remo (88/89) brochure with some specs of the 8P511:
210 mm (outer diameter)
176 mm (mounting hole)
85 watt
92 dB/w
29 Hz
Qts 0.21
VAS 109 liter
BL 220 * 10^-5 Wb
2.6 kg
89 mm (hight) |

Hi Duck,
thank you for your reply, I've had another list in my mail.. that makes a total of:
Fs 29.1 Hz
Vas 107.7 / 109 Liter
Qms 3.82
Qes 0.26
Qts 0.24 / 0.21
BL 220 * 10^-5 Wb
Pe 85W
Sd 220cm2
Vd 60.5cm3
n 92db/1W/1m
210 mm diameter
176 mm mounting hole
89 mm high
The only things left are Rdc an Le... hmm... maybe someone alse knows the last parameters?

I seem to remember suddenly that those speakers were used in Focal Kit model 400. Indeed about 18 years ago. They were sold to me by a guy called Charles van Oosterum. He is the one most left in the picture http://www.kharma.com/-g-ols/a-f-ols.htm (click Manufactory)
I never tought I would make someone happy with such an old speaker. I hope he makes something nice out of it!!:)

Hi Jan,
He's very glad with them!! Tony Gee told me he has the complete datasheet of the unit, and he will e-mail me all the info today... so I'll wait ... If he can't help me, I certainly will contact Charles!
And BTW...damn...those Thel's sound GOOD!

Hehehehe :D
Tony didn't have the datasheet of the unit, but he has sent me the design of the Kit 430 that uses the 8P511. Probably I can determine the Re of the unit by reading and recalculating the filter.
Thnx a lot guys!
