Hi all,
I want to replace my Aleph3 trasformer with 50V rail. I believe that the IRF can handle the Vds. To achieve a comparable result, what should I pay attention to? Is there a chance that the sound quality will be worse? (And why?). To achieve a better sound, what strategy I should use? I guess I will feed the Aleph directly with 50V and add a regulator for front end supply. |

| The other aleph's (2,4,5) have higher rails, maybe you can check those for reference. Other people say that higher bias gives better sound. |

| I don't think the voltage will be the problem. The power per device may be. I would take a look at the Aleph 2 schematic for resistor changes. The heatsinks will need to be much bigger. |
