Mr. pass said r1 is for power supply rejection . but i dont understand it because my english is poor, can anyone explain it for me in detail? thanks

The power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is the measure of how well the regulator rejects an AC signal
riding on a nominal input DC voltage. This definition is self-explanatory about what is the power
supply rejection. And, R1 must be for a better rejection.

This would help in detail: http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/appnote_number/883

Nelson Pass
R1 injects a tiny amount of power supply noise into
the circuit out of phase, reducing the noise and increasing
the PSRR.
