Cost Effective Upgrade Replacement For AD817? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello!

Does anyone have an opinion as to a cost effective
op-amp sonic upgrade for the AD817 without going
to something like the OPA627? I am looking at the
analog output buffer section of an Assemblage DAC
2.0 in this case.

Many thanks!

I have no knowledge about what type AD817 is.
But sure there arealternatives out there.
Without going over the edge in pricing.

I am sure some other member can give you 2-4 good alternatives.

Since the last post was kind of useless, I thought I'd try to help...

A pretty good substitution for the OPA627 at 10% of the price is the OPA134.

Do you need a specific package? The AD817 comes in a MDIP and a SOIC package.

TI's cross reference recommends the THS4051, which costs about the same as the OPA134.

If the gain is >2 the AD818 is identical, but without the internal cap load compensation, which increases distortion in the AD817

It is only stable for gains >2 though.
