Where does one obtain electrical schematics for CD and DVD players, actually any component really? Are there any websites which archive these. Thanks.

Commercial products have copyrights on their schematics.
So you arenīt allowed to publish these on the web.
There are a few sites in russia and poland where people upload schematics but usually those sites are closed down very fast.
What you could try is register in one of those "repair-forums".
Itīs amazing how many schematics some repair-wizards have collected over the years.
